Kodály Vic Courses

The Victorian Model

Kodály Victoria conducts annual Australian Kodály Certificate (AKC) courses.

The Victorian AKC Model consists of a series of lectures spaced across the year to allow for practice and reflection between sessions.

The model alternates between two systems:

  • 8 half day weekend lectures in each semester
  • 12 week-night after-school lectures in each semester.

Semester One subjects:

  • Pedagogy
  • Practicum
  • Materials

Semester Two subjects:

  • Musicianship
  • Conducting
  • Ensemble

Students wishing to attain the Australian Kodály Certificate must complete 3 levels in each subject within one stream: Primary, Secondary or Early Childood. The AKC is normally completed over three years.
